Under the guidance of IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group of China Academy of Information Technology, ZTE completed the technical verification of all functional projects of 5G millimeter wave independent networking in the laboratory at the beginning of October, and was the first to complete the test verification of all performance projects under 5G millimeter wave independent networking with third-party terminals in Huairou outfield, laying a foundation for the commercial use of 5G millimeter wave independent networking.
In this test, ZTE’s high-performance and low-power millimeter wave NR base station and CPE test terminal equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem are connected using the FR2 only mode in the millimeter wave independent networking (SA) mode. Under the configuration of 200MHz single carrier bandwidth, downlink four carrier aggregation and uplink two carrier aggregation, ZTE has completed the verification of all performance items of DDDSU and DSUUU frame structures respectively, It includes single user throughput, user plane and control plane delay, beam handover and cell handover performance. IT Home learned that the test results show that the downlink peak speed exceeds 7.1Gbps with DDDSU frame structure and 2.1Gbps with DSUU frame structure.
The FR2 only mode of millimeter wave independent networking mode refers to the deployment of a 5G millimeter wave network without using LTE or Sub-6GHz anchors, and the completion of terminal access and business processes. In this mode, operators can more flexibly provide thousands of megabit rate and ultra-low delay wireless broadband access services for personal and commercial users, and realize the deployment of green fixed wireless access networks in all applicable scenarios.
