The BNC connector was developed by Paul Neill from Bell Labs, and Amphenol’s own, Carl Concelman, hence getting the name “Bayonet Neill–Concelman(BNC)”. It is originally designed for military application as a miniature quick radio frequency connector. With a quick mating, 75 ohm impedance and a stability up to about 11 GHz, BNC connectors are mostly used in the broadcast market and telecommunications today.
